Qilin Statue

Qilin, a mystical chimerical creature known in China to arrive during the passing of a sage or ruler, was one of the inspiration for this piece. I wanted to challenge and sharpen my detail dexterity in Zbrush by creating a high detail sculpt that also tells a story, as a sage runs through a battlefield. This project is also a testing region for my lighting and shading skills, to help me understand the process of creating shaders such as gold, jade and oxidize bronze shaders.
